Life has a special rhythm when shared with others. Since I arrived in this little gem of the Mediterranean, Malta, I understood that people without people cannot fully develop. Human connection is not just a luxury; it is a necessity. This principle was the engine that ignited LatinosEnMalta, a community that seeks more than just answers: it wants to create bonds.
When I set foot on the island, my first challenge was to find a place in a sea of unknown cultures. I started with something simple: selling cell phone plans. Helping other Spanish speakers get internet was not just a job; it was a way to get closer to my community. Soon, each client was not just a client, but a story. Someone new to the area, someone looking for a place, someone wanting to make Malta their home.
Over time, my name became a recurring whisper in groups and conversations. “Do you need internet? Ask for it.” But this was not enough for me. Listening to so many people's stories made me realize something bigger: what we were all looking for wasn't just a service, it was belonging.
That's how the community was born.
I wanted to go beyond simple commercial exchange. I wanted those clients who trusted me to be able to get to know each other, help each other, and grow. I created spaces where everyone had something to contribute, whether it was advice on how to find accommodation, an invitation to play a soccer game, or simply an afternoon to laugh and unwind.
LatinosEnMalta became more than a group: it's a refuge. It's a place where shared experiences become learning, where well-intentioned advice creates opportunities, and where laughter weaves friendships that last forever.
Today, our mission remains the same: that every person who comes to this island finds not just a community, but a family. Here we connect not only out of interest, but for the pleasure of growing together, of celebrating our Latin roots while exploring a corner of the world so far away and different.
